This is my 3rd week doing Fun Sized’s Friday Feels posts, so I feel like I’m reaching a point where I don’t need to introduce the purpose of this post anymore. But in case you are new to FSE, welcome! And before you start reading, go back and read my 1st and 2nd Friday Feels posts so you get the gist of what I’m writing about each week. For the rest of you, carry on…
The Ruffle Trend
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that ruffles are one of the biggest trends this season. And I couldn’t be happier about it! I love how feminine they are and literally look good on all shapes and sizes. Let’s be honest, nothing makes you want to channel your inner salsa-dancing-girl-emoji more than a frilly, ruffly dress! I was immediately obsessed when I found this bow knot ruffle dress because it’s appropriate for the workplace and a girl’s night out. (And would you believe me if I told you that I didn’t realize I was subconsciously reppin’ the Scots with my blue and gold?!). Unfortunately, it is sold out, but I will let you know via Instagram when it is re-stocked. In the mean time, I’ve included some of my favorite ruffle pieces here for you to shop!
Southwestern Turkey Burgers (Serves 4)
Ya’ll, I’m married to a man who likes a good, ole’ juicy BEEF burger. So when I told him I was making turkey burgers, he did that no teeth grin where your eyes get squinty because you think you look to the world like you’re smiling but really imaginary smoke is spewing out your ears like a chu-chu train. You know what I’m talking about. But he was OBSESSED. We even made extra patties and packed them in our lunches the next day. I swear, they actually taste better as leftovers. Thank you delish for the recipe!
1.5 lb. ground turkey (93% lean) 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 jalepeno 2 T Mayonaisse
2 oz. grated Montereey Jack cheese olive oil
Course salt and ground pepper buns & other desired toppings
- Heat grill to medium-high. In a medium bowl, place turkey, jalapeno, cheese, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon coarse salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Mix very gently with a fork to combine.
- Gently form meat into 4 equal-size patties, 4 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Press thumb in the center of each patty to make an indentation approximately 1/2-inch deep (this helps keep burgers flat during grilling).
- Moisten a folded paper towel with oil; grasp with tongs and rub over grates. Season burgers with salt and pepper; grill until cooked throughout, 5 to 8 minutes per side. Serve on buns (toasted on grill, if you like), with desired toppings.
The Cutest Statement Earrings
I had been eyeing these earrings for quite some time, but then the sweet ladies at Gorjana sent them to me in the mail! Divine intervention at its best. But what’s amazing about these earrings? They are currently 40% off, making them less than $30! This would make a perfect graduation gift for the trendy senior in your life or mother’s day gift for that woman who made YOU possible! Or let’s be real, just buy them for yourself 😉
Hope you guys are having a fabulous weekend! Parker and I are headed to get sushi and see one of his favorite bands, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors tonight! We’ll see how late we can manage to stay out 😉
