This post is really not focusing on this lace-up sweater. Even though we can all agree you need this in your life. So add it to your cart and keep reading.
As I’ve shared with you before, this season of life has been defined by change. Career changes, physical changes, spiritual changes. Change is good thing. These changes have perpetuated insurmountable amounts of growth on my behalf. But that doesn’t make me any less, “Hey God, I get it. I’m not in control. Of anything…. but like, can’t the lesson be over now?!” (Just kidding… kind of haha). I’m learning to stop being a control freak. Total work in progress.
But in all seriousness, as I was reading in Psalms yesterday, I was reminded a powerful theme: God’s all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful presence. I have no idea what is going on in your life, your relationships, your job, your health, or your heart, but I know that no matter what it is, you can take hope in the following truths.
You are not forgotten; you are fully seen and fully known. Psalms 139:2 says that God knows the exact moments when we sit and rise and the thoughts the prevail in the depths of our mind. When it seems like there is nobody who cares, nobody who loves us, nobody to share in our joys and our pits, God is always there and knows exactly what we need to persevere.
You are understood; God made you to be exactly who you are. It often seems that nobody understands what you are going through or how you are feeling. Nobody truly understands what it is like to be you – for the better and for the worst. But alas, we are treasured by a Savior who truly knows us to our core. In a world where comparison is always just one click away, remind yourself that God created every aspect of your mind, body, and soul. And HE is a God of PERFECTION. (Psalms 139:13-14).
So today, keep reminding yourself that you are exactly who you were meant to be, because you were created by a perfect Creator. And girl, YOU’RE AMAZING. Especially in this lace-up sweater. Even Harry Styles think so 😉
And if you haven’t, I would love it if you would subscribe to FSE!
