December is certainly the busiest month of the year.  Don’t get me wrong, most of it is fun, but one of the hardest things for Parker and I is carving out time for just us.  There are so many fun things to do around Dallas during the holidays that make for a great holiday date night and help us get into the Christmas spirit! But in order to get “holiday date night ready”, make sure you go visit my friends at Adeline on Lover’s Lane.  My twist tie striped dress can be purchased online or in store- tell them Fun Sized Erin sent you 😉

1. Panther Ice Island

I know it’s not technically Dallas, but we’re willing to drive a few more miles for an outdoor ice rink.  IN TEXAS.  Nothing sounds more perfect than picking up Starbucks and listening to Christmas music all the way to Fort Worth, spend some time “couples skating”, and then ending the day with some Merry Christmas-ritas at Joe T Garcias.

2. Carriage Ride through Downtown McKinney or Highland Park

Nothing screams basic Christmas date like dinner and a carriage ride.  I will warn you, this is definitely NOT your cheapest holiday date night option.  You may want to consider making this more of a group date activity to keep the cost lower.  But you can pack up some festive adult beverages and oohh and ahh over the holiday lights.  And if you do it in HP, you can end the night with a mambo at the Monkey Bar.  Few things make me happier than the Highland Park Village lights at Christmas time.

3. ICE at the Gaylord Texan

This is on Parker and I’s holiday bucket list this year.  Can you believe we’ve lived in Dallas basically our entire lives and never been?! It’s basically a Christmas crime. This is going to be our big holiday date night this year, and I can’t wait!  So keep checking my Instagram, because one of these days you are going to see a pic of us in those unattractive blue jumpsuits singing every word to “Santa Clause Is Comin’ to Town”!

4. Gingerbread House Decorating at Central Market

I’ve already told you guys that Central Market is one of my favorite places on earth.  I could literally spend hours aimlessly wandering the aisles looking at all of the pretty things.  And you guys know how deep my love for candy runs.  So a day date that would combine 3 of my greatest loves – CM, candy, and my hubs – is a dream come true! And you have something festive to bring home to decorate your home with.

5. Arboretum’s 12 Days of Christmas at Night

The Dallas Arboretum is an oasis right in the middle of our metropolitan city.  It’s truly magical in the sense that you don’t feel like you’re in Dallas.  For the month of December, the Arboretum is staying open late to showcase their spectacular light show and Christmas decorations, including the infamous Claus Collection. If you really want to impress your lady, take it to the next level by booking a dinner reservation at the DeGolyer House.  And the menu is perfection!

I’m ALWAYS looking for new date night ideas in Dallas- Christmas related or not! Comment below and tell me your favorites! Also, if you need some last minute Christmas ideas for your woman, check out my holiday gift guide.

Cheers, Erin

Love that there are so many options in Dallas! East TN isn’t quite the same… but Knoxville does have its charm. Also, loving that dress!
