The Little Black {Maxi} Dress

Maxi dresses are always a staple for my wardrobe, probably because it requires little to no brain activity on my behalf.  I mean, the only decision I want to be forced to make in the summer is whether or not I have the energy to put on sunscreen and drive to the pool or just continue binge watching Netflix in the A/C.  So needless to say, this little black {maxi} dress is on repeat because it’s got a fun “business in the front, party in the back” vibe going.

Now I understand that most of you corporate America #girlbosses are laughing at the thought of wearing something like this into the board meeting.  But for my teacher and work from home (or a super relaxed office environment) people, you can throw a cardigan or cute kimono (like the one listed here) to make it appropriate for the workplace.  Because I taught 11th grade and 8th grade for 5 years, I was always overly aware of the short, tight, and low factors.  If you didn’t know, teenage boys are gross.  Old habits die hard.

But the best part? When you are running out the door at 4 p.m., rip off that outerwear for a “sexy-but-I-didn’t-try-to-be-sexy” look that’s more appropriate for happy hour.  And since it’s black, you can style it so many ways- an eye-catching long necklace, a pair of statement earrings,  a trendy scarf, or even a floppy hat to let your coworkers know your current “work situation”.  And feel free to splurge a little on the accessories, because the dress only cost $68 😉

Comment below and tell me how YOU would style this little black [maxi] dress!

Cheers, Erin
