Tailgating with Toyota

This post was created in collaboration with Toyota. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Fun Sized Erin.  As always, all opinions are my own.

One of my favorite things about the fall season is college football. Parker and I love waking up on Saturday mornings, cooking breakfast, and watching College Gameday.  And while our schedule definitely stems around when the Aggies are playing, my love for college football goes beyond that (especially this season haha).  I can literally watch any team and become invested by cheering for the underdog!

That’s why I was so excited when Toyota reached out to me about collaborating to show how my friends and I tailgate! They graciously gifted me a Toyota Tundra for the week so that we would be able to transport everything we needed for our tailgate at the TCU vs. UT game last Saturday.  Not only was it extremely spacious, but I loved how smooth it drove on the highway! It also comes with front parking assist sensors and signals in the side mirrors to help you identify when cars are in your “blind spot”.

My friends are really laid back, so we wanted to keep everything easy and simple.  We loaded the Yeti full of beverages, brought a little fruit, some chips and guacamole, and hot dogs and hamburgers to grill out. It was my first time to actually host a tailgate, and I am so thankful that we decided last minute to bring a big tent! It ended up being in the 90s on Saturday, so the shade was a must! And of course- no tailgate is complete without a little cornhole and some college-themed cupcakes.  My friend Rachel owns Sugar Ray’s Bakery, and she graciously baked a dozen of the cutest (and most delicious) cupcakes to satisfy this preggo’s sweet tooth 🙂

After an afternoon of sun, food, and lots of pregnancy talk, Toyota completely hooked us up with Touchdown Club passes AND pre-game sideline passes.  I swear, our husbands were in HEAVEN! We technically weren’t allowed to remain on the sidelines for the game, but the security guards apparently didn’t think two pregnant ladies and their husbands seemed like a threat.  So they let us stay for the game! It was such a fun experience Tailgating with Toyota, and it will be really hard to transition back to watching the game from the comfort of my own home.

Last but not least, please comment below with some of your favorite tailgating traditions.  The McCormacks are always looking for fun ideas and new recipes for hosting some watch parties this season!
